The three day annual festival with performance of sacred mask dances, (some unique to Gangtey) and also folk singing dances is concluded by Nguedup Langwa, a spiritual blessing for wisdom and power. The valley is the winter roosting ground of the migratory and rare blacknecked cranes. The festival generally takes place at the same time at Wangdue Tshechu festival.
