We spent two weeks in Bhutan, together with the whole family (ok, one sister and brother in law were missing). My parents already travelled there in the year before and had such a great time with Sangay that they wanted to repeat it. Bhutan is truly a unique country, I also have been to some places on earth before, but Bhutan is just special. You get different feelings as soon as you cross the border, it is a good spirit which affects you and you forget all the stress you had in the job back home. But these positive feelings were certainly strengthened due to Sangay and his team. When they fetched us at the border in Jonkhar with nice spacious cars, I felt relieved. Well, I don't want to write down all the experiences we made within 10 days. To summarize, we travelled through the South-East of the country, where we almost didn't meet any tourists, and on the last day we flew to Paro. Every day, every sightseeing-spot, boat trip, walking tour, village visit, monastery was planned by Sangay and his crew with enthusiasm and care, so that we felt like in heaven. Sangay is a brilliant guide, as he is smart, well educated and knows every tiny spot of the country. We got a good insight of the country and the culture, met various people, and Sangay had for every small thing an explanation. We could ask him everything!! On our trip we were spoiled, on the long drives we stopped for picnics he prepared. The hotels he organized were lovely, in the evenings he built bonfires and we had good discussions. Besides, we laughed a lot! Well, it was just lovely and I would do this trip again and again. I just can recommend Sangay to EVERYONE. Not just the country is unique, but he is as well!
We wanted to thank Bhutan Welfare Tour & Travels for your wonderful hospitality, and for the opportunity to see and get to know your beautiful and peaceful country. We really enjoyed our visit which gave us an interesting glance upon your values, tradition, happiness and a view to the amazing landscape in Bhutan. We also had the pleasure of meeting the people of Bhutan. Thank you and wish you all the best of luck to introduce Bhutan to the world a success.
